India BESS Tender Weekly Review

Summary: Five Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) tenders were newly floated, moved to bid-submission stage, or reached key milestones across India this week, spanning central PSUs (SJVN, GAIL), a state PPP (Maharashtra), and DISCOM-level pilots (Rajasthan). Combined new/advancing capacity this week: roughly 1,300+ MW / 2,700+ MWh, plus a 200 MW floating solar-storage PPP and a 600 MW solar-plus-BESS project.

1. SJVN – 265 MW / 530 MWh Standalone BESS, Panipat (Haryana)

2. Purna Irrigation Division (Maharashtra Water Resources Dept.) – 200 MW Floating Solar + BESS with 22.5 MW Hydro Upgrade
